The Mission of the BLACK PURITANS, USA - A Religious Society of African American Friends is to minister to the social, spiritual and physical development of the African American family unit- the nucleus of the Christian church.
Our ultimate Purposes are to make available God's biblical principles, to spread Christ's liberating Gospel, and to provide continuing programs that will enhance the entire social development of dislocated fathers, mothers, children, and family members.
Our primary focus at the present is rebuilding the African American family unit, through Christian principles, values, and standards.
As a branch of English Puritanism, we are also deeply-rooted in African and African American Christian traditions and cultural expression.

The Religious Society of African American Friends (RSAAF) is heir to the history of Underground Railroad and the anti-slavery advocacy of the Religious Society of Friends (i.e., the Quakers).
When Rev. Richard Allen (first bishop of the A.M.E. Church) and Rev. Absalom Jones (first black Episcopal priest in the United States) founded the "Free African Society" in Philadelphia in 1787, their founding Charter required that one of the members of the Quakers must always serve as its its treasurer.
Today, not "slavery" or the "trans-Atlantic slave trade," but rather the EFFECTS of slavery continue to traumatize the Black family, the Black Church, the African American community, the United States, and the entire world.
To that end, the RSAAF is committed to carrying out its anti-slavery heritage of advocating for social justice and human rights.

As such, RSAAF has the unique privilege of organizing conservative "Quaker" friends around the world who are concerned especially with the plight of persons of African descent in North American and throughout the Pan-African world. And we are especially mission-oriented upon the continent of Africa, alongside our friends within the Evangelical Church International- Africa.
Meanwhile, in North America, our mission is oriented around the "Family!" We believe that through ameliorating the plight of the "Black Family in the United States," we are carrying on the great work of eradicating the effects of chattel slavery and discrimination. As such, we believe that the Christian home is the first, most important local church-- i.e., Fathers and Mothers are the most important ministers.
We are orthodox and conservative; and we are bible-based, scholarly, and deeply-rooted in Scripture, as well as reason and tradition.
